Game Types & Modes

Trix (تركس / تريكس)

Pronunciation: Triks

A four-player trick-taking card game popular in the Middle East, consisting of five different kingdoms played in sequence.

Also spelled 'Tricks' or 'Trex' in some regions.

Normal Mode (عادي)

Pronunciation: Aadi

Play all five kingdoms (Collections, Diamonds, Queens, King of Hearts, and Trix) in sequence.

The traditional way to play a complete game of Trix. Also called 'Simple' mode in the calculator.

Complex (كومبلكس)

Pronunciation: Complex

A combined kingdom that includes Diamonds, Queens, King of Hearts, and Collections all in one round.

A faster, more challenging variation that tests multiple skills simultaneously.

Solitaire Mode (فردي)

Pronunciation: Fardi

Play style where all 4 players compete individually against each other.

The default and most common way to play Trix.

Partnership Mode (شراكة)

Pronunciation: Sharaka

A variation where players form two teams of two, combining their scores. Players sit across from each other.

Team 1: Players 1 & 3, Team 2: Players 2 & 4

Kingdoms (الممالك)

Collections (لطوش)

Pronunciation: Ltoosh

Kingdom where players avoid taking any tricks. Each trick taken results in negative points.

Scoring: -15 points per trick

Play your highest cards when others lead to avoid winning tricks.

Diamonds (الديناري)

Pronunciation: Al-Deenari

Kingdom where players avoid taking cards from the Diamonds suit.

Scoring: -10 points per diamond card taken

Also called 'Al-Dinari' in Gulf regions.

Queens (البنات)

Pronunciation: Al-Banat

Kingdom where players avoid taking any of the four Queens.

Scoring: -25 points per Queen (-50 if doubled)

Literally translates to 'The Girls' in Arabic.

King of Hearts (ملك الكبى / شيخ الكبى)

Pronunciation: Malik Al-Kobba or Sheikh Al-Kobba

Kingdom where players avoid taking the King of Hearts in tricks.

Scoring: -75 points (-150 if doubled)

Called 'Al-Kabba' in Gulf, 'Malik Al-Quloob' in Levant.

Trix (تركس)

Pronunciation: Triks

The only positive-scoring kingdom where players race to get rid of all their cards, starting with the Jack.

Scoring: 1st: +200, 2nd: +150, 3rd: +100, 4th: +50

Sometimes called 'Domino' because of sequential play.

Game Mechanics

Trick (لفة / كرت)

Pronunciation: Laffa or Kart

One round of play where each player plays one card. The highest card of the led suit wins.

A complete game consists of 13 tricks.

Lead (يبدأ / يطلع)

Pronunciation: Yabda or Yitla'

To play the first card of a trick, which determines the suit other players must follow.

Follow Suit (يلحق / يتبع)

Pronunciation: Yilhaq or Yatba'

Playing a card of the same suit as the led card.

Required if you have any cards of the led suit.

Hand (يد / توزيعة)

Pronunciation: Yad or Tawzee'a

The 13 cards dealt to each player at the start of a kingdom.

Round (جولة / دور)

Pronunciation: Jawla or Dawr

One complete play through all selected kingdoms.

A full Normal mode round includes all 5 kingdoms.

Kingdom (مملكة)

Pronunciation: Mamlaka

A distinct scoring game within Trix. Each kingdom has unique rules and objectives.

Scoring Terms

Doubling (مدبلة / مضاعفة)

Pronunciation: Madbala or Muda'afa

Rule where negative points are doubled for Queens and King of Hearts.

Doubled Queen: -50 to taker, +25 to doubler. Doubled King: -150 to taker, +75 to doubler.

Negative Points (نقاط سلبية)

Pronunciation: Niqat Salbiya

Points deducted from a player's score for taking undesirable cards or tricks.

All kingdoms except Trix use negative scoring.

Positive Points (نقاط إيجابية)

Pronunciation: Niqat Ijabiya

Points added to a player's score.

Only awarded in Trix kingdom based on finishing position.

Total Score (المجموع الكلي)

Pronunciation: Al-Majmoo' Al-Kulli

Cumulative score across all played kingdoms.

Player or team with highest total score wins.

Card Terminology

Deck (كوتشينة / ورق / شدة)

Pronunciation: Kotshina or Waraq or Shaddeh

Standard 52-card deck used in Trix.

Four suits of 13 cards each.

Suits (الأنواع)

Pronunciation: Al-Anwa'

Four categories of cards: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades.

Pronunciation: Al-Quloob or Al-Kobba

Diamonds (الديناري)

Pronunciation: Al-Deenari

Clubs (السباتي / سنك)

Pronunciation: Al-Sabati or Sanak

Spades (البستوني)

Pronunciation: Bastoni

Jack (ولد)

Pronunciation: Walad

The starting card for Trix kingdom.

Queen (بنت / ست)

Pronunciation: Bint or Sitt

Worth -25 points each in Queens kingdom.

King (شيخ / ملك)

Pronunciation: Sheikh or Malik

Highest face card in most kingdoms.

Ace (آس / واحد)

Pronunciation: As or Wahid

Highest-ranking card in trick-taking.

Calculator Features

Game Setup (إعداد اللعبة)

Initial configuration screen where you choose game type, play style, and doubling rules.

Player Setup (إعداد اللاعبين)

Screen where you enter names for all 4 players before starting the game.

Scoreboard (لوحة النتائج)

Table showing all kingdoms played, minigame scores, and running totals for each player or team.

Minigame Input (إدخال النتائج)

Screen where you enter results for each kingdom after playing.

Auto-calculates remaining counts, validates totals, and applies doubling rules.

Auto-Calculated (محسوب تلقائيًا)

In partnership mode, Team 2's counts are automatically calculated based on Team 1's entries.

Used for Collections and Diamonds kingdoms.

Current Total (المجموع الحالي)

Running count displayed while entering results to help validate entries.

Must equal required total (13 for tricks/diamonds, 4 for queens).

Finishing Position (ترتيب النهاية)

Player's rank in Trix kingdom (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th).

Each player must have unique position.

Share Results (مشاركة النتائج)

Feature to share final game scores as an image on social media or messaging apps.

Share Calculator (مشاركة الحاسبة)

Share the Trix Calculator link with friends via social media, WhatsApp, or copy link.

New Game (لعبة جديدة)

Start fresh game, clearing all scores and returning to game setup.

Back Button (رجوع)
